A “sonic rock” band, “Cassette Prophet” consists of composer Mike Morasky (Steel Pole Bath Tub, Milk Cult) vocals and guitar, Noah Landis (Neurosis, Christ On Parade) lead guitar, Rachel Smith (Lickets) keyboard, Jessica Anthony vocals and keyboard, Wes Anderson (Idiot Flesh, Les Claypool) drums, Donny Newenhouse (Terry Gross, Film School) Bass, and Cory Todd on video.

Originally formed by Morasky in 2005 as a solo performance piece, he was then joined by longtime collaborator Noah Landis in 2015 under the name “First Church of Radio Shack”. The current line up formed in 2022 and has been headlining shows at Bay Area venues, often collaborating with adjunct local artists.

Cassette Prophet, currently performing the album “Radio Shack”, strives to share the experience of a cult that formed around a Radio Shack in 1979, wherein the leader attempted to apply electro-spiritual cleansing and audio-physio transformation to its members. The current version is an extended and detailed telling of the original 2005 story after the band mysteriously came into possession of extensive documentation of the 1979 event. Cassette Prophet has completed the studio recording of the “Radio Shack” show, including vocalizations by 30 of their “conduit” cult members.
